English Lessons for Spaniards: ‘Layoffs’.

Today, english workarounds for the spanish ‘a la puta calle’ (’through the f*ck#n’ door’), thanks to Bob Sutton’s blog.

 

Regretfully, these euphemisms are and will be used a lot during this fiscal year and the next here in Spain, destroying plenty of value (do we always say our ‘human capital’ is the best in the company?, or this was only when the economy was buoyant?). Even from a simple ROI perspective, we’re not ‘laying off’ adequately.
