Master of Puppets

Posted in economics, operations research by Francisco Marco-Serrano @ Feb 15, 2005

Dear Friend,

It is related in the christian mythology that God created the Universe in just six days, and such titanic duty took him to rest for the following day (does it turn to be Sunday?). By the way, before he rested he created someone just like him: the human being (although the Church has been arguing "man" until very recent times).
Anyway, even scientists have been finding trouble quite recently to avoid using the figure of God to explain our existence (the Universe as a whole). Hopefully, science have managed to come with a theory that avoids this drawback: the multiverse (http://www.channel4.com/science/microsites/W/what_we_still_dont_know/index.html).

As an economist and operations researcher this matter only concerns me on one direction: if this Master exists or not it doesn’t matter, whoever or whatever has created us has been rather effective than efficient. At the end of the day we are, but we aren’t perfect.

Thank you very much indeed!

Headache-like-a-hole

First of all, let me apologise for the unfortunate name for my blog. It has nothing to do with the sea, you know.

I have a terrible headache, probably you don’t mind, but I ‘m going to tell you why even if you don’t bother.

I hate inefficiencies, and I hate inefficient people, as well as their inefficient practices. I could be inefficient myself, but it’s not my problem (!), that’d be other’s headache. Anyway, that’s one of the reasons why I’ve devoted part of my life to efficiency analysis. What’s next?: avoiding headaches-like-a-hole (whatever you want to say this means).

Freedom of speech, not freedom of I-tell-a-lot-of-s#@t.

Ta!

Opening Note

Posted in me by Francisco Marco-Serrano @ Feb 7, 2005

Believe or not, I have never participated in a chat, I have never posted to any forums, and I have never managed a blog.

I have read many things about them, but for me it was like the £1000 notes, they exist but you will never see one. Or will do?. It seems so, as you can realise!.

FM Waves is the title I have chosen for my blog, but it has nothing to do with radio, not even with physics. FM are two letters that have followed me since I was born, they are the first letters of my name and surname. With regards to the WAVES…, I don’t know yet, we’ll see.

Ta!
